The exhibition reconstructs the genesis and evolution of the typology of female busts made by Canova at the peak of his career. In the last twelve years of his activity, when he is the most famous and most requested living sculptor in Europe, Antonio Canova develops a type of busts that has immediate luck among contemporaries, both among the client and the critics of the time and who he called "ideal heads". A very fortunate trend of which the exhibition reconstructs the history for the first time through about 30 works, including more than 20 Canova, from prestigious international museums.
