Vittorio Accornero de Testa (1896-1982) and Edina Altara (1898-1983), artists and illustrators, cross their work paths starting from "Il Giornino della Domenica", where Accornero made its debut in 1919 and Altara in 1920. Their destiny professional soon intertwines with the personal one: they got married in 1922 and together they design the wedding invitation, a worldly invitation that is also a statement of style. During the years of their marriage, the couple shared the destinies of high society, operating with enthusiasm and energy in the era of Art Déco. First united in life, then separated, they never lose contact and manage to reinvent themselves even in the complex period following the Second World War. The existence of the two artists intersects not a few dynamics of artistic creation in Italy, between the territory of graphics and the creation of objects. The volume is the portrait of two lives spent in search of ever-changing creative dimensions, alongside illustrious names in design and fashion, including Rodolfo Gucci, who had a special partnership with Accornero, and Gio Ponti, who wanted to be at his side. Edina Altara for important collaborations in the field of furniture.
Subject Headings: Eastern and Western European Art ; Western Art -- Italy -- 1900-1945 -- Illustration and Printing ; Women Artists --
