Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia, 2019. Published, 2020. Published by Quodlibet, Macerata.
Two volumes. 194 pp.; 214 pp. Moderately Illustrated (some col.). 22 x 16 cm. In English. Hardcover.
ISBN 9788822905840
Two volumes explore The Fountains of Za’atari, a project from artist Margherita Moscardini that has been in development since 2015 and was presented by Collezione Maramotti in 2019, with an exhibition and a public sculpture in a city park in Reggio Emilia. Based on research into refugee camps as urban spaces that are destined to last, the first volume contain several major theoretical contributions on the themes touched upon by the artist. The second one, an unofficial guide to the Za’atari camp through its private monuments, illustrates an inventory – carried out by Moscardini and some inhabitants from the camp – of courtyards with fountains that residents have built inside their homes. This volume-catalogue will work as a tool for purchasing (and reproducing) the various designs of courtyards with fountains by other governments and institutions across Europe.
Subject Headings: Eastern and Western European Art ; Western Art -- Italy -- Post-1945 ; Post-1970 ; Post-1990 ; Post-2000 -- Sculpture -- Women Artists --
