Due date January 2022. Publisher's description: The perception of nature and landscape is a central theme of the Italian artist Gianni Caravaggio (* 1968). When viewed, his poetic sculptures and installations want to awaken the memory of feelings that were evoked by experiences of nature, and aim at the essential unity of man and nature. Gianni Caravaggio's timeless works are about calling up unconscious images of nature that result from the relationships between matter, space, time and man. A key concept here is landscape, which is no longer to be represented, but rather to be conveyed as "pure sensation" in the sense of Malevich. The combination of traditional materials - bronze, marble or wood - with everyday substances such as talcum powder or sugar as well as the staging of the sculptures directly on the floor create a special attraction in their reduction.
Subject Headings: Eastern and Western European Art ; Western Art -- Italy -- Post-1945 ; Post-1970 ; Post-1990 ; Post-2000 -- Sculpture --
