Born in 1937, fashion designer Hiroko Koshino was immersed in garment making from a young age; her father was a tailor and her mother ran a boutique. In 1978 she became the first Japanese designer to participate in Alta Moda, Rome. A vibrant melange of cultures in Koshino’s fashion, which extends from its Japanese roots to encompass influences from both East and West. Her glamourous appeal and abundant portfolio are proudly showcased in this book, published on the occasion of an exhibition organised at the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art in Japan.
