In Italian.

Sculptor, abbot, practitioner of painting and first Director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara, Giovanni Antonio Cybei (Carrara 1706 - 1784) was, among the lesser-known personalities of the Italian artistic eighteenth century, one of the most interesting personalities, author of works of international scope, destined for the Kingdom of Naples, Prussia, France, Poland and Russia of the tsars. On the occasion of the 250th anniversary celebrations of the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts, the volume returns the figure of the sculptor and above all the Italian artistic climate of the time, through a series of paintings by artists working in the Duchy of Modena - to which the Principality belonged of Carrara - and in peninsular Italy, that is, in the places frequented by Cybei himself. Very talented artists - among which Batoni and Pannini stand out - to propose a real journey into the artistic culture of the Italian eighteenth century. texts: Alessandro Agresti, Simone Andreoni, Sandro Bellesi, Paola Betti, Donatella Biagi Maino, Pierluigi Carofano, Alessio Cerchi, Marco Ciampolini, Alberto Cottino, Fabrizio Federici, Andrea Fusani, Roberto Giovannelli, Alessandro Leoncini, Franco Moro, Vittorio Natale, Emilio Negro , Chiara Nenci, Anna Orlando, Francesco Petrucci, Egle Radogna, Stefano Renzoni, Nicosetta Roio, Stella Rudolph, Leonardo Scarfò, Giancarlo Sestieri, Carlo Sisi
