Sulle tracce di Raffaello nelle collezioni sabaude
(In the Footsteps of Raphael in the Savoyard Collections)
W035297 | $49.95
Exhibition Catalog
Musei Reali-Galleria Sabauda, Turin, 2020. Published, 2021. Published by Editris Duemilla, Turin.
140 pp. Well Illustrated (chiefly col.). 27 x 21 cm. In Italian. Paperbound.
ISBN 9788889853566
The catalog was born in the context of the celebrations for the five hundredth anniversary of Raphael's death. The Royal Museums pay homage to the genius of the Italian Renaissance with a dossier exhibition dedicated to themes and moments of the reception of his models in Piedmont. Some exemplary cases have been selected from the Savoy collections over a chronological span from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. The starting point is the episode, in many ways surprising, of the sixteenth-century copies of the Madonna d'Orléans made by Gerolamo Giovenone and by Defendente Ferrari. Large space is dedicated to the Madonna della Tenda of Turin, purchased by Carlo Alberto in 1828 as an autograph work by Raphael and object, for this occasion, of a restoration illustrated in detail in the catalog.
Subject Headings: Eastern and Western European Art ; Western Art -- Italy -- 1400-1600 -- Painting --
